LVCC Santa Barbara #17 The Elko star inset in a moon is hand cut out on this Santa Barbara cheek making for an intersection of insight and inspiration. Knowledge of history and a vision for the future are seen in the tapered “ears” that reflect the classic Moorish motif. A crescent moon element is seen in variation below. Made really loose, the 7.5-inch straight cheeks will quickly telegraph changes in direction from your hand to your horse. The inlaid silver on the “estribos” (stirrups) is also engraved. Shown in antique brown, you may select your favorite color finish for inlaid iron or stainless and choose overlaid silver for a lot of flash.
